jupload only for admin?

Hello,

I have uploaded the jupload.jar to /webEdition/jupload/ folder, but the jupload functionality is available only when I log in as admin. If I log in with another username I can't use jupload.

Does anybody know how to use jupload for other users, than admin?

Thank you

Hi,

the jupload is designed only for users with admin-privileges.
In jupload you can upload anything to any directory. If a user has a "home"-directory, it will not be checked!

Hi,

are you sure, that jupload should work for all users with "Administrator permissions" checked? In my case it works only for the "admin" user.

What exact permissions should I set, so that it works for other users? If it's not possible to use jupload by all users, how do your non-admin users upload for example 100 photos? Do they have to select every single file separately?

Thank you very much for your help

Hello linxy,

as said, there is no way at the moment to enable jUpload for other users than Admin Users. If it's only enabled for your master account, maybe it's just not enabled in the settings of the other users?

There is already a feature request reported, regarding this.

Regards,
Daniel

Hm, in we 5 was a setting area in the user settings for that. It was checkable for each user. It's missing in we 6! Why? :?

There still is a way to activate the tool for Users without admin permission. Give the User the admin-rights and let himself delete his admin-rights, after activating the jupload.
Warning: <we:ifStillWorking trick="jupload"> i had issues with the login data after this, the user-password changed into admin-password unregulary, no idea why....</we:ifStillWorking>

I think the reason for deactivating this feature was the licencetype, so this tricky way is sure not possible for long.

AFAIK this was already fixed and is not possible any more.

Never tried it myself. Michael Stenitzer posted this in the Bugtracker: http://qa.webedition.de/tracker/view.php?id=3520

I discovered the method by myself, but be warned, if login is not possible after this workaround, try the admin-password.
